Martin Tims,Manager of Education and Environment Programmes for ExxonMobil in the UK,joined what was then Esso in 1968 having gained a degree in Chemical Engineering and Fuel Technology at Sheffield University.Since then he has held 10 different positions with thecompany,acrossthe spectrum,culminating inhis presentposition from which he is soonto retire.Recently interviewed by petroleum Review,he stressed how vital it is for oil and gas companies to work in partnership with the education sector in order to secure the industry recruits of the futute.
