Insecticide choices numerous for producers

Boy, how times have changed. When I first started my career as an entomologist there were only 4 or 5 main classes of insecticides that I dealt with, these being organophos-phates, carbamates, chlorinated-hydrocarbons, pyrethroids and Bacillus thuringiensis-bsised insecticides. Nowadays, in addition to these we also have neonicotinoids, Spinosyns, hormone mimics, feeding blockers, energy metabolism inhibitors, several different types of growth regulators, diamides and some that haven't even been classed yet.
