I paint blue X's on trees for a living. Or so it seems after painting thousands of trees to be cut down in pecan orchards this year in three states. A surprising number of growers realized at the same time this year the advantage of thinning their orchards and did so. We've had much better results when tree removal was done prior to an expected on-crop, so this winter was a good time.
