The city of Shenzhen is just north of Hong Kong along the Pearl River delta. The project for the design of Shenzhen International Airport's Terminal was the result of a design competition held towards the end of 2005 and won by the team of Yang Molen Design, who created the terminal plan and design, and its associates Landrum and Brown, who also worked on the terminal programme and airfield design.
