ONCE in dire straits due to the extreme recession in the textile and dye sectors, Gujarat's chemical industry is now on an expansion mode with increased demand from the domestic as well as international markets. The chemical units have started gathering resources for the expansion purpose, as the industry seems to be getting on track since April. According to industry sources, large markets including the US and Japan have started posting orders for various types of chemicals.
