Northwest crabbers and processors are expecting a better Dungeness season this year after a combination of lower prices, low abundance, and the crippled economy kept last season's fishery to a dull roar. Analysts say markets are hungry for crab and, because of the relatively low-volume 2008-09 fishery, along with smaller catch expectations for fall crab fisheries, there won't be much product in the freezer despite the ongoing recession.
