After a fight with the Bush administration, Congress has safely secured the 170 million dollar in salmon disaster funds originally proposed in the Farm Bill. First, President Bush vetoed the bill, and Congress overrode it. Then he tried and failed totake 70 million dollar from the pot to pay for the 2010 census.
