Shelter in Dry Pass, stringing kelp, and a half-million bucks

We wouldn't be able to make it through El Capitan until high water the following morning, so we dropped the hook at Dry Pass. The updated weather forecast called for a high wind advisory, and it blew like a bastard that night. I was just thankful that we weren't pushing onward like Dad was. When we finally squeezed through El Cap, we looked at a map and decided to seek shelter at an abandoned mine near Marble Creek.
