Judy Walton: The career field of campus sustainability officer is quite new. There were only a handful of full-time sustainability officers a few years ago, and now there are perhaps several hundred in positions ranging from coordinator to chief sustainability officer to associate vice chancellor for sustainability. Many of those who hold these positions are recent college graduates, typically young, or are switching to a new career field. What would you say are a young or new sustainability officers greatest challenges?
