Manufacturing and warehousing environments are inherently complex and diverse. They demand an equally wide range of specialist fire safety solutions, says Keith Minister, Morely-IAS, Honeywell. In the case of general or smaller-scale manufacturing, the emphasis is typically on protecting the plant or warehouse, rather than the process itself. In response to the often-fluid and fast-evolving nature of these environments and tight operating budgets, a fire safety system should ideally combine flexibility with cost-effectiveness.
