Study shows risk of carbon monoxide in manufacturing plants

According to a recent air quality survey by Master Group Consultants, Fort Wayne, Ind., 80 percent of manufacturers who have performed facility ventilation studies found evidence of negative air pressure, a serious indoor air quality issue that often leads to carbon monoxide leaks. Of these facilities, 40 percent have not taken corrective action.Half of the manufacturers represented have conducted a ventilation study of their facility. Of the 80 percent of facilities that found evidence of negative air pressure, 60 percent have taken corrective action, such as attaching heated makeup units and adjusting rooftop air-conditioning units.
