Characterisation of Ball Clays by Bohlin Rheometry

One of the central themes in the design and use of ball clay blends for sanitaryware applications is to determine the optimum conditions for slip-casting. These will vary between different ball clay blends, with an influence also exerted by the other components in the casting slip, i.e. the non-plastic components quartz sand and feldsparepheline syenite, as well as the kaolin(s) present.
