This article concludes that the accuracy, sensibility, and specificity of the magnetic resonance imaging to determine the integrity of the posterior ligamentous complex (PLC) are limited and lower than previously reported. However, other assessment methods show only indirect evidence of posterior disruption. Do these conclusions necessarily limit the value of the Thoraco-Lumbar Injury Classification and Severity Score1 system?
