Cognis has entered into a 50:50 joint venture with Thai Oleochemicals Ltd(a subsidiary of PTT Chemical Company Ltd)to produce and market fatty alcohols in Thailand.The new partnership will mark the first time a company has produced refined fatty alcohols in the country and will trade under the name,Thai Fatty Alcohols Company Ltd.Richard Ridinger,group vp Cognis said:"We are delighted that this joint venture will further strengthen our co-operation with as strong a partner as PTT Chemical-one of Thailand's largest chemical companies-and support the continued development of the oleo-chemical industry in this country."
