Dow Chemical subsidiary Amerchol has a new range of high viscosity quaternised hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) conditioning polymers.Called SoftCAT SL,these cationic polymers have the addition of a low level of hydrophobic substitution and this hydrophobic character is said to deliver superior conditioning performance in comparative evaluations with PQ-10 and cationic guar in shampoos.
