Apacked council meeting tackled a busy agenda in the Glasshouse room at the Holiday Inn in Camden. The room overlooked the canal, but there was no time for idly watching the boats going by as members tackled the gritty issues of the consumer landscape before moving onto the hot topic of education and training.Speaking on the issues that came up, as TSI toured the country with the recent National Trading Standards Conversation roundtables, Andy Foster, TSI director of operations and policy, said the consultation had thrown up little by way of detail about how the new enforcement regime would operate, but it was for the trading standards community and TSI to 'create solutions', and while businesses were still doubtful about what it's all about, it is up to us to build bridges by informing and engaging with them.
