Pragmatic and progressive - but at a cost

The period of waiting for the promised new legislation for the EU in vitro diagnostics industry ended on 26 September 2012. That was when then EU health and consumer commissioner John Dalli announced in the Berlaymont building press room, in Brussels, the European Commission's proposal for a new regulation governing the marketing, trade and public health protection needs associated with the use of IVDs in the EU.
