Modern industrial manufacturing plants have to meet increasingly higher demands. In addition to absolute reliability and outstanding performance, controllable process stability and constant machine availability also play an important part. Thus, the topic of "sensor technology" is gaining more and more importance, usually making wireless communications a necessity due to rotating components. Simultaneously, the sensor systems must not affect the original properties of the machine, so that miniaturized and easily integratable, while at the same time robust and economically feasible solutions are required. In view of all these requirements, finding the right solutions is a perfect task for modern microsystems technology.
