Arch’s new met coal sales beat estimates: bank

US miner Arch Coal’s new metallurgical coal sales look to have been priced at around $85/st at the mine, beating expectations, Brean Capital said Tuesday. Arch has 4.4 million st of met coal priced and committed for 2015 at $78.27/st mine, it said in a quarterly statement Tuesday. Previously, Arch had 3.9 million st of met coal sales committed and priced for 2015 at an average $77.45/st mine, according to the St. Louis-based group’s 2014 report.
