U.S. Army computer experts think they know why the III Corps expeditionary force could not reliably analyze and display intelligence during a joint military exercise in South Korea. Software managers at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland allowed the corps' intelligence computers to be sent to South Korea from Fort Hood, Texas, without software patches that would have made the corps' aging computers compatible with the particular version of intelligence software used during August's Ulchi Freedom Guardian exercise.
