In 2009, as a result of the global recession, Chinese pesticide producers saw their profits fall by 29.5% although the value of their production increased by 4.4%. In 1Q 2010, Chinese production of pesticide active ingredients rose by 16.6% to 582,000 tonnes and sales rose 23.5% to RMB Yuan 34.15 bn.
