摘要

IT'S NOT OFTEN NATURAL GAS discovered onshore is prevented from getting connected to markets by water, but it has happened in northeastern British Columbia, where Anadarko Canada has been sitting on a 200 bcf reservoir for the last five years.Until recently, the company has been prevented from producing the gas by the 1,000-metre deep Buckinghorse River gorge. The extremely steep and unstable gorge walls made the installation of either a conventional crossing beneath the river or a suspended pipeline over the gorge unacceptably risky options, from both a technical and an economic perspective.
