AS PRODUCING COMPANIES IN-ALBERTA pound more holes into the ground than ever before,the provinces energy regulator is making sure existing wells that currently don't produce are not forgotten.Currently there are about 42,000 wells in Alberta that have been inactive for a year or longer.Several of these wells have been idle for more than two decades.Bustling land sales have caused many of these wells to change hands more than once,and that means information on wellbore conditions and sometimes even the very existence of inactive wellbores has been lost.
