CAPP's top stewards

Alberta's oil and gas industry is doing great things when it comes to responsible development of resources.Some of the best work was recognized in front of an audience of more than 350 representatives of the upstream oil and gas industry,and stakeholders from government,community groups,and environmental organizations last May at the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers' sixth annual Stewardship of Excellence Awards.The winners were ConocoPhillips Canada for environmental performance;BP Canada Energy Company in the category of health and safety;EnCana Corporation for social performance,and Suncor Energy Inc.in the category of President's Award.The President's Award is noteworthy in that it provides CAPP with the flexibility to recognize performance that might not otherwise fit into other categories.It can be an outstanding achievement in one category,one that truly embodies the principles of stewardship,or one that cuts across all three areas.
