In 1977, an oil and gas lease covering a large tract of land located in both Tarrant County and Wise County is recorded in Wise County. In March 2001, Aston Meadows purchased a 182.024-acre tract, which was a small portion of the leasehold tract, but which was solely located in Tarrant County.
