The U.S.portion of the Williston Basin,which is in western North Dakota and eastern Montana,is once again a hot area.Production has increased 47% during the past three years,led principally by the Bakken's increased contribution to the region's total production from less than 5% in January 2003 to almost 25% at year-end 2005.
