Schlumbcrger said at its analyst day this summer that globally, onshore capital spending will outpace growth in offshore capex for the foreseeable future. Credit Suisse analyst Jim Wicklund supports that theme. "If you are tied to deepwater, that market has been growing at 12% for the last five or six years, but now it's going to grow at 3%. So, a lot of offshore-related companies will see slower earnings growth and earnings compression. You are already seeing dayrates roll over for some rigs. It's still going to grow, just not at that 12% pace, versus North American land.
