Remember Trans Mountain? You know, the other pipeline that will bring Alberta oil to the west coast?Turns out it's moving ahead with expansion plans, according to operator Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP. The line currently carries 300,000 barrels per day of crude oil from Edmonton to a Vancouver port terminal, but thatnumber could nearly triple in the next five years if regulators approve.Kinder Morgan has proposed a $5-billion expansion that would include adding a second pipeline, new pump stations and extra storage tanks, as well as expanding the Westridge marine terminal in Vancouver to handle the added volume. Capacity on the line wouldincrease by 550,000 barrels per day to a total of 850,000 barrels per day.
