EUROPEAN MINERALS PUTS OFF LAUNCH OF KAZAKH MINE UNTIL Q3

European Minerals, which is developing the Varvarinskoye gold-copper deposit in northern Kazakhstan, has pushed back the start of commercial production to the third quarter of 2008. Nonetheless, the company said in a press release that it plans to sell the first gold-copper concentrate from the mine in April. The company attributes the delay in achieving commercial output to optimization of equipment.
