摘要

The αA-cryslallin gene is expressed in a highly lens preferred manner. Here we show that the mouse αA-crysiullin -- 180l)/ + 46 promoter fragment displays leiis-prcfcrrcd activity in transgenie mice and in stably transfeeted lens cells. These findings are in contrast to the lack of activity of this promoter previously reported in transiently transl'eeted lens cells. Our current findings suggest that the -1809/+46 mouse αA-cryslallin promoter functions in a lens preferred manner when stably integrated into chromatin.
