Each of us at Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants of New York (VRMNY) wishes to congratulate Larry on this well-deserved honor. None of us would be where we are in the field of retina today were it not for his example, leadership, guidance, and generosity. He perpetually pushes each of us to realize our potential, to develop our native abilities, and exercise new skills that we may not have known we had. He has set the bar high through his example and his continuing expectations for each of us to be the clinicians and academicians that he imagines we can be. Larry has a motto that he reminds us of all the time: "family first." While this refers to his encouragement that we always prioritize our home and family when needed, it also has a different meaning. To Larry, VRMNY is also a family. We are expected to treat each other as brothers, to share and contribute to each other's success.
