Isolated Foveal Hypoplasia

A 10-year-old girl was referred to our department with a complaint of reduced vision, reported to be stable since childhood. The parents of the patient signed a comprehensive consent form, before proceeding with all examinations. The patient was not born prematurely, and her familial and medical history were unremarkable. The patient reported to have never had inflammatory or any other acute ocular disease. Best-corrected visual acuity was 20/80 in both eyes, and there was pendular nystagmus. There was no iris tran-sillumination suggestive of ocular or oculocutaneous albinism, and the iris and chamber angle were normal with no sign suggestive of aniridia.
