A 26-year-old homosexual man developed a painful red right eye and blurred vision in July 2005. Uveitis was diagnosed, and treatment with predrisolone acitate (1%) and atropine drops was started. Vision declined rapidly to hand motions within several days. Despite this, he missed several follow-up appointments including a referral to a retina specialist due to poor compliance and lack of medical insurance. Five months later, he developed photophobia, redness, and pain in the left eye. He treated himself with Pred Forte (1%) and atropine drops. However, symptoms worsened, and he presented to the emergency department 2 days later when he noticed blurred vision in the left eye.
