By 1963 ARRT had recognized that the most appropriate role of a certification organization was in establishing and administering requirements for individuals seeking certification, not in determining the content of an educational curriculum, but this entry suggests that the Board was still much more involved with evaluating educational content in 1963 than it is today. Today curricula are developed by professional membership societies, such as the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, with input from other organizations.
