Extracting methane out of Africa

SLR's landfill gas team has assisted in the development of a methane gas extraction and utilisation system for Africa's busiest landfill.Connecting the Bisasar Road site in Durban to the South African national grid system will help to support future electricity generation of up to 8MW, while the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality's recent registration with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will now allow it to generate income from carbon credit sales.
