District heating and cooling plant utilizing wasted heat in sewage plant for Morioka station west side area

DHC (District Heating and Cooling) plant utilizing wasted heat in sewage plant commenced commercial operation for Morioka station west side area in Iwate prefecture in November,1997. This plant enables 30% energy saving compared with conventionalsystems and to reduce NOx, CO{sub}2 emission. NKK constructed DHC plant and sewage heat recovery system in sewage pump station. This paper reports outline of both plants.
