Development of catalytic oxidation process of ammonium from coke-oven gas

摘要

Ammonia is one of the typical impurities of coke-oven gas which must be removed prior to its use asfuel. Several technologies were developed to remove, process and make use of ammonia. Processeswhich make ammonia by-products such as ammonium sulfate and pure anhydrous ammonia havebeen applied widely. However, the operation of these processes are unprofitable because of therecent market conditions. In this paper, catalytic oxidation process which converts ammonia toH{sub}2O and N{sub}2 directly is studied. Co-oxide catalyst which is applied to this study has highoxidation activity of ammonia as well as low emission of NO{sub}x.
