NKK has established a waste plastics recycling in a blast furnace system in Keibin Works for industrial waste plastics. In this system, waste plastics are used as a substitute for coke in the iron making process, and it is very favorable processbecause of the high-over 80%-energy efficiency. And NKK is now developing and spreading the technology for municipal waste plastics. In this paper we would report about a presorting system which separates PVC's from municipal waste plastics, including the bottle-film separator and centrifugal sorting (CENSOR). NKK could obtain high quality plastics containing under 0.5wt% Chlorine for the blast furnace.
