Concentrate Pricing Period (QP)

A major "topic" in concentrate terms is the pricing period (QP) for the contained metal in concentrates. Traditionally, this was focussed on minimising the smelter’s exposure to price risk, and to align metal pricing as closely as possible to the smelter’s final pricing to its customers. Thus, the QP was normally month following arrival at smelter port (MAMA) or the 2nd month following arrival (2MAMA).
