Designers arc being called upon to help speed up the commercialisation of technologies from a number of UK universities The Design Council's Innovate for Universities programme will bring teams of designers into the technology transfer offices of universities to accelerate the development of new products The six universities taking part in the programme, Aberdeen, Cambridge Heeds, Nottingham, University College London and York, won they places through a competitive entry process Each has nominated four emerging technologies that will be supported by intensive design mentoring for 12 months.
