Looking to the future

Leating through the photographs in Helen and Ray Moody's album recording the seven-year development of their Akaroa property is exhausting work. The earliest snaps of the two-hectare site show a thickly grassed, canoe-shaped basin with steeply slopingsides and a drainage problem, courtesy of clay soil and a creek determined to find the shortest route to the sea.
