Liz Foley is used to having strangers knock on her door and ask if they can have a look around. Her quaint board-and-battcn cottage on New Plymouth's historic Pendarves Street was built around 1859. That's a fair chunk of Taranaki history stored safely under its rough-sawn beams, so it's small wonder so many people can claim a connection to the little house Liz calls Pear Tree Cottage.
