'Comparison of trickle to canon'. Fertigation in relation to growth phase.

Trickle irrigation was compared to overhead irrigation on 7 ha of potatoes (cv. Fambo) in Niedersachsen, Germany. Advantages and disadvantages of both systems are outlined. Data are presented on investment costs for 7 and 21 ha, with and without fertigation. Highest yields (660 dt/ha) were obtained with trickle irrigation and fertigation, compared to 460 dt/ha without irrigation..
