Water vapor compression-application and outlook

摘要

The basic difficulties of the production of an applicable water vapor turbo compressor were overcome as a result of R&D activities in the ILK Dresden. First Water Chillers with mechanical compressor, which use water as a refrigerant, work in customer installations. The current development of the new cooling technology is a first step. There are first results on the way of designing further applications. In addition to the chiller with water as refrigerant a heat pump and a vacuum ice machine will be developed. Effective seawater desalination plants can be built with the aid of the new compressor.
