National and European programs to reduce HFC emissions

Although the contribution of HFCs, PFCs and SF{sub}6 to the expected global warming will be very small, the latter gases had been included into the Kyoto Protocol. Particularly HFCs are needed to complete the phase out of Ozone depleting substances, that are controlled under the Montreal Protocol. The attached article will compare the contribution of HFCs versus CO{sub}2 to global warming, furthermore which measurements and policies are considered in Europe to reduce HFC emissions.
