Marine Wildlife Impact Assessment Developed for Offshore Wind Farms

Swedish researchers created a new tool to assess the impacts of noise from offshore wind turbines on marine mammals, fish, mollusks, and other aquatic wildlife. Their study synthesized current research on the effects of offshore wind farms on marine wildlife, then used the results to develop a generalized impact assessment for coastal waters in Sweden, encompassing a wide range of conditions of salinity applicable to other locations.
