The navigation system's monitor is operated using a stick that is like a gear shift lever extending to the center control. In addition to scrolling, a joint is provided in the middle allowing the user to change the eyepoint. When seen from directly above, the map provides a bird's-eye view freely front, back, left and right so one can sense the roundness of the Earth. The most frequently performed operation with navigation systems is map scrolling. In addition to guidance to the destination, users apparently also want to know what's coming next, and this psychological need is revealed in their operating habits. The articulated stick facilitates the operation to satisfy the desire to know what is coming next.
