When designing an amplifier, several factors need to be addressed: power, size, and efficiency, just to name a few. Genesis has been attentively pursuing these design elements and came up with an outstanding solution using Class G circuitry as they have in their new Profile series amplifiers. The Genesis Profile Two Ultra is a 2-channel Class G amplifier rated to make 2 × 150 watts into 4 ohms and 2 × 225 watts into 2 ohms. The amplifier has a full-time highpass crossover ranging from 20Hz up to 6kHz, and a switchable lowpass crossover that is adjustable from 50Hz to 6kHz, Both have a slope of 12dB/octave, Additionally, high-level inputs, preamp outputs and a "BassPort" for an optional remote subwoofer level control can be found on the front of the amplifier. The Profile Two Ultra, with the exception of a polished, deep-rutted extrusion on the far side, is completely shrouded in brushed stainless steel that resembles the finish on an original DeLorean, In the center of the top is a cast oval ring with a satin aluminum finish surrounding a black vent screen with an attractive name badge in the very center. The amp has a very low profile, a mere 1 3/8" tall. All of the connections and controls are situated along the front of the amplifier, while the relatively small heatsink extrusion is visible across the back.
