I should start by saying that I really don't like 3-way systems I have yet to test or review one that worked well in car audio, The primary reasons are that the crossovers are far too complex to be mounting-position flexible, and it's hard to even find acceptable mounting positions for all of the speakers That being said, the MTX system appears to have answered these issues. I looked long and hard at the TXC5.1 and TXC6.0 and decided to test them as both a standard component set (TXC5.1) and as a 3-way set with the addition of the TXC6.0 midbass. My rationale is that the TXC5.1 can stand on its own and that the addition of the TXC6.0 just gives it a bit more bottom end and power handling.
