Sustained Ventricular Tachycardia in a Patient with Tetralogy of Fallot-with a ' Twist'

Following corrective surgery, long-term survival rates for tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) are excellent, and most patients live well into adulthood with excellent functional capacity. Cardiac arrhythmias among adults with TOF occur in one-third of patients late after corrective repair, ranging from atrial tachyarrhythmias to life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias and sudden death. This article reports the case of a 20-year-old man who presented with sustained ventricular tachycardia. A discussion of ventricular tachycardia and risk stratification of sudden death in TOF follows the case presentation.
